Catacombs beneath Fort Point

I took the "Catacombs of Fort Point" deep within the bowels of Fort Point in San Francisco and captured a series of red brick arches, forming a long, tunnel-like corridor. The arches are uniformly spaced, creating a rhythmic pattern that draws the viewer's eye toward the vanishing point in the center. Sunlight filters through the arches, casting elliptical patches of light and shadow on the floor. The texture of the bricks is detailed, with some areas showing natural wear and discoloration, adding character and a sense of history to the composition.
